It's a pretty simple device, so will work with many Z-Wave controllers if they support the Thermostat Mode SET and Binary Switch SET commands - you should check with Hubitat or SmartThings to see if they support those.
In terms of "zoned heating", there's no arbitration in the Receiver device, you'd normally use your Z-Wave controller to create all the logic to handle the heat demand from any TRVs within each zone and then the Z-Wave controller would decide if there's an overall demand for heat and control the Receiver as required.
