Normally when I think about DIN rails, I think about the 2 pole fuse/breakers in my house consumer unit. Where do these fit in ? Do they go in the same unit, next to the breaker for say the lighting ring/circuit I want to control/dim? Or do you recommend they go into a different unit - away from the main breakers etc?

Yes, you can install these in any DIN rail enclosure. So they can be installed in your breaker board, if you have space. Or some people install new DIN rail enclosures in different parts of the house to control sub circuits. But generally, the DIN rail devices are used in a central location.
